We in America have come to a new day or new normal where technology or digital and internet access, along with adoption needs to be universal. Due to COVID-19 the new normal to ensure learning, working, banking, bill paying , shopping and tele-health can continue or happen in every community, with every race, regardless of income or address needs to be addressed and resolved in bridging the digital divide.
WiFi for the transient and low-income individuals and families to allow the Wi-Fi on the go throughout the community. WiFi mobile devices are truly needed more now than ever, along with tablets, netbooks, iPads and laptops to resolve the digital divide in inner cities and urban areas. In addition, the training on how to use and maintain, needs to follow, coincide with or start the transitions.
Fixed Wired Broadband making it the last miles in our state and country, especially into the rural and tribal communities that are hard to reach and often left behind needs to power up. Internet via Fiber, Cable or Satellite is needed along with desktops and laptops or tablets/iPads. In addition, the training on how to use and maintain, needs to follow, coincide with or start the transitions.
CTDG can not do it alone! Closing The Digital Gap is a collaborative effort in which all hands on deck are need to ensure no one gets left behind by new and existing technology needs not being met.
